Due to consistent growth domestically and internationally, Flexicon is seeking a technically well rounded and personable individual to join our Service department. An ideal candidate would have strong electrical and mechanical background and possess excellent communication skills to support direct communications with customers and independent field contractors. Knowledge in weighing systems, PLC’s and HMI’s helpful. It is preferable to have 5 years’ experience with industrial process equipment and dry bulk solids. Domestic and international travel will be required.
General Areas of Responsibility:
- Support of mechanical equipment and electrical control issues on Flexicon systems
- Includes phone, email and on-site support
- Solving performance related issues in quick fashion
- Calibrating weigh scale systems
- Reviewing and modifying PLC programs
- Supervisory role on-site for installation assistance
- Includes contractor guidance and project management
- Liaison between end user and contractor
- Deciphering mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Time management
- Equipment Startup and Commissioning
- Includes mechanical installation review and adjustments
- PLC I/O Checkout
- Adjusting factory installed PLC & HMI programs if required
- Follow up calls to customers after commissioning
- In office customer service support
- Includes assisting the other Flexicon departments with customer inquiries
- Research on inquiries from customers
- Data implementation on Flexicon database
- Quoting parts and equipment
- General customer service duties
Requirements:
- Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone, over email and in person
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to make solid decisions and recommendations in a rapid paced, forward-thinking environment
- Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision
- Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, field notes, correspondences, and other written materials
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, PLC code, Weigh Indicator/Module programs, and HMI programs
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications including, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer programs including, but not limited to Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Rice Lake and Mettler Toledo
- Maintain or have the ability to obtain a valid US Passport
- Travel minimum of 50%, home majority of weekends
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have an Electromechanical or Field Service background with 5 years’ experience, preferably with industrial process equipment and dry bulk solids.
